PIPER OLSEN

President

Hi.  I am thrilled to be the PTO President for WHE again this year.  I come from a family of educators.  My mom is a retired Art teacher, my Dad taught English and my Grandmother was a neighborhood nursery school teacher.  I feel strongly that teachers and administration at the school need to be supported, but at the same time parents’ ideas need to be represented.  My family and I moved to Mooresville in 2017 from New Jersey.  I have one son here at WHE in the fifth grade.  Right now I am a stay at home mom and I am thrilled to be able to support the school.  Prior to moving to NC, I worked in the child care industry for many years in Corporate Sales, managed Customer Service Departments and worked in Accounting and Finance.  Feel free to share your ideas with me and let me know what we can do to make your experience at WHE a great one!

KELLY MEYER

Vice President

I'm very excited to serve as Vice President of the PTO this year! Our family moved to Mooresville in 2014 from Southern California (the only placed we've ever lived) and we couldn't be happier with our decision.  My husband Jason and I have three children - Emma, Brayden and Ethan. Emma is a Sophomore at Lake Norman HS, Brayden is in 8th grade at Brawley Middle (a WHE graduate) and Ethan is currently in 4th grade at WHE.   I studied Communication and Business at The University of Southern California and currently work as a Realtor with Besecker Homes Team.  I look forward to being involved at WHE this year in a variety of areas, supporting the administrators, teachers, staff and students. I am thankful for the outstanding education and environment WHE provides and am dedicated to the continued success of our school.

KRISTEN WENGER

Treasurer

I am excited to be on the PTO this year serving as Treasurer.  My family moved to Mooresville from Toronto area in August of 2017 and we are thrilled to be back in the South! I have one child at WHE, and two kids in middle school.  I am currently a stay at home mother but have previously worked as a realtor and prior to that as a manufacturing engineer.  I've always been very involved in my children's schools and at our last school ran the volunteer reading intervention program called Strong Start.  I'm looking forward to a great year at WHE!

LEIGH PRINCE

Secretary

I am looking forward to another great year serving as the PTO Secretary.  My family moved to Mooresville from the San Francisco Bay Area in August 2017 and we have been blessed to find ourselves in this wonderful community.  With three boys attending Woodland Heights Elementary (and my daughter in middle school), I am fully invested in the success of our students, teachers and administrators.  I am a practicing land use and municipal attorney by trade, and hopefully I can use those skills in a way that will make a difference for our school.

LYN BRIGGS

Communications Director

This is my second year on PTO and I am looking forward to contributing to the school and my son’s education.  I am a graduate of Georgia Southern University with a BS in Public Relations.  I began my communications career at AT&T Universal Card, which became Citibank, where I served as copywriter for all of Citibank credit card websites, as well as the editor of all internal training material for the credit card customer service department. I also served as Public Relations Account Executive with the Dalton Agency, an advertising agency. During my tenure with the Dalton Agency, I became a Crisis Management Specialist, and focused my efforts on improving the image and public perception of our clients through community outreach, media relations and rebranding. Before relocating from Florida, my most rewarding position was that of Director of Marketing and Communications for Downtown Vision, Inc.- a tax-payer funded not-for-profit with a mission to revitalize Downtown Jacksonville and re-create it as the premier cultural and entertainment destination in North Florida. My husband and I moved to Mooresville in 2005.

SABRINA HARIG

Community Relations (Spirit Nights) Director

I look forward to serving on the PTO Board again in my new position as the Community Relations Director. I am excited to provide opportunities for the WHE family to get together outside of the school to share a meal and raise funds for WHE. My family moved to Mooresville from Reno, Nevada in 2015 and my daughter is in third grade here at WHE. I am originally from Dallas, Texas and have a degree in Biomedical Sciences from Texas A&M University. I have experience working in retail, medical offices, childcare, and research laboratories. I am also a Brownie Girl Scout Troop Leader and a Girls on the Run Coach. Please let me know if there is any way I can help you or your family here at WHE.

MEG NORDHAGEN

Co-Fundraising Chair

This is my third year on PTO and am in a new role as Co-Fundraising Coorodinator.  My husband and I moved down here almost 10 years ago from New York and we couldn’t have found a better place to raise our two girls, who are both proud Hawks! I am now a stay at home mom but was a Kindergarten teacher for a number of years before staying home with my babies. I run my own little crafting/vinyl/sewing business in my spare time so I love to be creative! I have such fun planning our Woodland Heights family events such as movie nights, father daughter dance and the mother son event! Please let me know if you’d like to help out with any of these! I’m always looking for extra hands to help create, decorate and volunteer for these events!! Here’s to a great year!

This year I am happy to join the PTO Board and contribute as a Co-Fundraising board member. My family moved to Mooresville over the summer of 2018 from south Charlotte, so this will be my daughters second year as Hawk!  I also have a son who attends Brawley Middle School. While I am currently a stay at home mother, I have a background in Elementary Education from my former life in Texas where I taught Kindergarten, 1st, and 5th grade. I am hoping that my perspective as a former educator will be an asset to the Board and the school.  I’m looking forward to another great year at WHE.

LAUREN DAVIS

Co-Staff Appreciation

Hi y’all! I am so honored to have the privilege and opportunity to help spoil our wonderful WHE staff this year as co- chair of staff appreciation! I have lived in Mooresville since I was a little girl. I met my husband at Appalachian State University in Boone. We have a third grade son and another son in kindergarten. I loved growing up in Mooresville and on Lake Norman and I always knew I wanted to raise my children here too! I have a big family who all still live locally and we own and operate Victory Chevrolet in Charlotte. I love being involved and lending a helping hand at our school. I am so excited to spoil and pamper our amazing staff with catered lunches and pop up treat stations/ carts throughout the year!

EMILY DUNLEVY

Co-Staff Appreciation

Hello fellow WHE parents!  I am excited to be serving as co-chair for Staff Appreciation this year along with my good friend, Lauren.  We love to plan special events and are excited to spoil our staff throughout the year!  I am a native North Carolinian, born and raised in Mt. Airy, NC (aka Mayberry). I attended Peace College in Raleigh and UNC-Greensboro, where I received my degree in Elementary Education.  After graduation, I taught in a rural NC public elementary school outside of the Triangle region until our move to Mooresville in 2012.  I have sons in 3rd grade, 1st grade and a preschooler.  In my 3 years as a parent at WHE, I have enjoyed volunteering at the school in many areas both in the classroom and throughout the school.  Last school year, I served as Chair of the Spring Carnival and participated in many other PTO sponsored events.  I am happy to take on a larger role within the PTO and work together with parents and staff to help our school.  In this new role, I am eager to show our love and appreciation to all of the amazing teachers and staff at our wonderful school.  Cheers, y’all, to a fresh new school year!
